2017 Summer Road Trip-Day One
Part I: Halfway to Michigan
The road trip to Nashville was fairly uneventful. We did start about 45 minutes later than planned because I accidentally turned off my alarm. Despite that, we made decent time! We missed holding baby Parker in Atlanta because he wanted to stay in my cousins belly. After a few snacks in the car, stories of Per's trips to Kentucky along this same route, Papa G's pit stop nap at monteagle rest stop, & the life altering privilege for the boys to chew gum over the "eagle mountain," we arrived in Nashville!!

Childhood family friends the Stowells are hosting us for the night in their hilly, lovely Tennessee home. I mentioned uneventful earlier. Well that was true until about 20 minutes of arriving when all 4 boys found their way to the front driveway away from us adults. In the two minutes out of our sight, Micah found a strider bike & managed to ride down the hill & crash at the bottom without a helmet on. My heart skipped a beat as I heard a muffled cry & saw Micah at the bottom of their driveway with blood on his face! It definitely will be a shiner! We are just so thankful to the Lord it was not worse than it was. We are counting our blessings tonight! Micah recovered and started acting like his normal self playing with all the wonderful toys in the toy room.
